Tennessee State golf in 13th after two rounds of Grover Page Classic

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s golf team played two rounds in the Grover Page Classic on Monday afternoon at the Jackson Country Club and finished in 13th place with a 601.

The Tigers shot a 305 in round one and knocked nine strokes off their round two score as they tallied a 296.

Cayden Chambers paced the Tigers as he shot back-to-back 72s to finish with a 144. Chambers is tied for 23rd in the 93-player field after two rounds. Jared Southerland finished three strokes behind Chambers after carding a 74 and 73 to finish tied for 50th with a 147.

Spencer McCranie is tied for 75th after logging a 152 (77, 75). Bo Twerdahl sits 10 spots back as he is tied for 85th with a 158 (82, 76). Isaac Napier knocked seven strokes off his round two score (84, 77) to finish in 89th with a 161.

Playing as an individual, Carter Waltonfinished tied for 8th with a 158 (76, 82).

TSU will close out the Grover Page Classic tomorrow with the final 18 holes of the three-round event.
